Ari Novick, Ph.D., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, nationally recognized anger management expert, author, trainer, and educator with decades of experience helping individuals, families, organizations, and communities improve communication, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution skills. He is also a NAMA Certified Anger Management Specialist-IV, one of the highest levels of certification available through the National Anger Management Association, and has trained professionals throughout the United States in anger and stress management intervention techniques.

Dr. Novick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. He later completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the California Graduate Institute. His educational background combines clinical training, behavioral science, communication theory, and human development, which has helped shape his practical and solution-focused approach to therapy, education, and behavioral change programs.

Before transitioning fully into the mental health field, Dr. Novick spent several years working in corporate sales and marketing for nationally recognized companies, focusing heavily on youth-oriented branding and communication strategies. During that time, he held sales and marketing positions with companies including Vans Shoes, The Timberland Company, and Skechers USA. This business and marketing experience later became valuable in helping him develop educational programs that are accessible, engaging, and easy for participants to understand and apply in everyday life.

Over the course of his clinical career, Dr. Novick has specialized in anger management, stress management, domestic violence intervention, communication skills, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and behavioral education programs. He has received additional training in substance abuse prevention, alcohol and drug education, tobacco prevention, parenting education, socialization skills, legal awareness, assertiveness training, empathy development, and problem-solving strategies. His work focuses on helping individuals build healthier coping mechanisms, improve interpersonal relationships, and develop long-term behavioral change.

In response to the growing need for accessible anger management and behavioral education services, Dr. Novick founded the AJ Novick Group. The organization was created to provide high-quality counseling, educational classes, court-approved programs, evaluations, and professional training services both in-person and online. Recognizing the increasing levels of stress, interpersonal conflict, and emotional challenges affecting individuals and families, Dr. Novick developed programs designed to provide practical tools that participants can immediately apply to their daily lives, relationships, and work environments.

Dr. Novick has presented workshops, seminars, and professional trainings for schools, corporations, government agencies, military organizations, healthcare professionals, and community groups throughout the country. His presentations focus on topics such as anger management, emotional regulation, empathy, communication skills, workplace conflict, stress reduction, and behavioral accountability. He has also served as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University, where he taught graduate-level psychology courses.

In addition to his clinical and educational work, Dr. Novick has appeared in television and media interviews discussing behavioral health and anger management topics, including features on the Discovery Channel and FOX Television. He is also the co-author of the widely recognized anger management book, Anger Management for the Twenty-First Century, which has been used by clinicians, educators, and individuals seeking practical strategies for managing anger and improving emotional control.

Dr. Novick is additionally the co-founder of Century Anger Management, a national professional training organization that provides certification training and continuing education for counselors, therapists, educators, and professionals working in the field of anger management and behavioral intervention.

Throughout his career, Dr. Novick has remained committed to helping individuals strengthen communication skills, improve relationships, reduce destructive behaviors, and create healthier personal and professional environments. His work emphasizes accountability, education, empathy, and practical skill development as essential tools for lasting personal growth and positive change.
